Ana Paula Dourado

Ana Paula Dourado is a Professor of Tax Law and International and European Tax Law at the University of Lisbon. She has been a visiting Professor at the University of Leiden since 2007 (International Tax Centre), Univ. of Florida (2010), Global Law School, Catholic Univ. Lisbon (programme directors, Weiler/Maduro) (since 2009), and Uni. of Vienna (2010-2011).

She has drafted and negotiated the tax reforms in Portuguese speaking countries as an expert in the legal department of the International Monetary Fund (2003-2009). She was a Member of the Centre for Tax Studies at the Portuguese Ministry of Finance and a delegate for Portugal in the working groups for direct tax harmonization at the European Community and in the working group for tax avoidance and evasion at the OECD.

She was a founding member of GREIT ( She co-edited “the Acte Clair in Direct Tax Matters” (IBFD), edited "Separation of Powers in Tax Law" (EATLP) and has published several articles, book chapters in European tax law; she is a correspondent for EC Tax Law, H&I, and several other tax law journals; she is a Member of the editorial board of Intertax, Rev. de Finanças Públicas e Direito Financeiro and the Academic Committee of the EATLP.
